People, positivity, progress cornerstones of new Kawartha Lakes councillor’s approach

Mike Perry wears many hats in his personal and professional life: lawyer, social worker, advocate, volunteer, business person and father.

He will be adding that of councillor after winning the Ward 3 seat on Kawartha Lakes council with almost 62 per cent of the vote Oct. 24.

Perry’s first brush with municipal politics came in Grade 8 when he brought a proposal to council asking that an abandoned railway bed be turned into a walking trail, he says, joking he, “embraced my inner nerd early on.”
