Reserves used to fund Kawartha Lakes community projects in 2024, no impact on taxes

Several community groups are receiving a helping hand from the City of Kawartha Lakes next year, but it won’t come from the taxpayer thanks to council’s use of reserves.

Council approved a number of special projects Tuesday, Dec. 5 during the draft 2024 operating budget deliberations.

Of the eight items discussed, only five were approved, two of which receiving amounts different from requests. Funding for all projects is slated to be pulled from operating contingency reserves.
