Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit unanimously appoints new leadership

David Marshall is back at the head of the health unit board table.

Having served as the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit’s interim board chairperson during last year’s municipal election, Marshall was acclaimed to the seat officially during the board’s monthly meeting Thursday, Jan. 19.

Marshall was appointed to the board by the province in 2021.

A seasoned business executive, Marshall brings considerable global and North American experience in all facets of human resources.

Currently serving as the vice-president of human resources and corporate services of NeatBee Home Services Inc. in Oshawa, Marshall spent seven years as the executive director of human resources and labour relations at the Great Blue Heron Casino in Port Perry.

“Strengthening partnerships with local community agencies and municipalities will be a focus for the board of health this term,” stated Marshall. “We will work together to increase the awareness of the role of public health and the programs and services provided within the HKPR district areas, so we can work together to improve the health of our communities.”
