‘Absolute nightmare’: Council opts to toss design item for Sobeys intersection in Fenelon Falls from budget

Environmental Assessment recommended changing parking lot traffic flow at Lindsay and Helen streets to right turns only

The mayor of Kawartha Lakes says a planned redesign to fix a congested Fenelon Falls intersection is a disaster, and it will not work.

“What’s being proposed, as far as I’m concerned, is a disaster. It will make things so much worse and potentially it will hurt businesses in that area.” Mayor Doug Elmslie said of the proposal for Lindsay and Helen streets in front of Sobeys. It would permit only right turns in, and right turns out, of the parking lot.
