Kawartha Lakes residents given extra time to comment on strategic plan
Kawartha Lakes council is giving the public more time to chime in on the municipality’s new strategic plan.
The issue regarding community feedback was raised by Ward 2 Coun. Pat Warren on behalf of the environmental advisory committee. The group had expressed desire to review and comment on the draft plan presented during the Jan. 16 committee of the whole meeting.
Members were unable to review and comment in time for Tuesday’s (Jan. 30) council meeting, where the plan was expected to be adopted. To provide the committee — and by extension, other Kawartha Lakes groups and residents — more time, Warren put forward a motion to delay adoption until the March 19 regular council meeting.
