Council votes in support of filling cell service gaps in Kawartha Lakes

Three new telecommunications towers got the green light to move ahead in former Verulam and Mariposa Townships

Council voted to keep a project aimed at reducing cell service gaps in rural areas of eastern Ontario moving forward in its Feb. 21 meeting, supporting three new telecommunication tower projects.

The towers are set to be located at 950 Bury’s Green Road and 109 Bulmers Road in the former Verulam Township as well as at 774 Little Britain Road in the former Mariposa Township. The towers are part of the larger Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN) project, funded by all three levels of government but regulated federally, to improve both broadband and cell services in rural areas.
